Waiting on a yellow bird

anniversary musings.

Up until yesterday, the only man I had ever received flowers from was my dad. 24 hours ago, I opened the door of my Lima house, to find a curly haired angel, with a bunch of Sunflowers. It is moments like those, that make me grateful for every negative relationship experience I have endured, just so that I could have been able to enjoy the beautiful ones. The best things come to those who have waited in Hell, and didn’t expect Heaven.

happy

To find happiness

in the gentle flick

of a perfect lash.

A fierce brush of

happy lips.

To taste the scent

of happy skin-

to ignite the atoms of

a tongues eager edge.

To feel the swoop of wings

across the unraveling knot

of a happy stomach.

The happiness they

asked, if was because of you.

And I smiled.

Because it is.

Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it, you must take mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.” - Eat Pray Love.
